Hello friends and family! As I sit here thinking about what to write, I’m at a bit of a loss h not because I don’t have things to share, but because there is so much the Lord has continued to show me, and I don’t even know where to start!
For the past week, we were doing domestic ministry in Adrian, Georgia, helping out at Camp Adrian. This is a place full of so much life and love, and being there had given me so much gratitude.
My job this past week was getting the chance to work with my team to clean out a lovely shed for all of the workers. Even though we ran into a dead rat and squirrel, the stench of dirty old paint, and more than a few unpleasant surprises, the Lord has really shown me what it looks like to rely on His strength and to rely on Him for rest.
This is something we have to ask for daily. His rest and strength wash over us when we ask. He meets our needs, and He sees us exactly where we are. This is an attribute of a true friend—we can rest in His presence and lean on Him.
Something else I have been learning is what it means to see Jesus as a friend. This is something I’ve always heard, but I don’t think I have ever fully understood it. I want to be able to see Him in this way because, through knowing Jesus as a friend, I can learn how to simply be the friend that the Lord has called me to be.
In less than a week, I will be in Jamaica! I’m praying that I can take these things I’ve learned this week with me: relying on the Lord’s strength, sitting in His presence and finding rest in Him, and learning what it truly means to be a friend.
I am so excited for all that I’ll be doing over these next few months, and I hope y’all will continue to follow along and be praying for me and my squad as we continue through ministry!Thank you so much for reading. Until next week!
—Love, Ayslee
